I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.
Ex twice world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really happening.
